YOUTH CONFIRMATION CLASSES

Rev. Dr. Ted Rust

We study and learn the Old Testament

Confirmation is a 3-year period of instruction in the Christian Faith as confessed in the teachings of the Holy Bible, Luther's Catechism, and the Lutheran Church. This instruction is for youth in Grades 5 and higher. We use the "Here We Stand" Lutheran Curriculum from Augsburg Fortress and materials from Concordia Publishing House. One year we study Old Testament, another year we study the New Testament and another year we study Luther's Small Catechism. Confirmation youth are expected to regularly attend Confirmation Classes which meet on Monday evenings. Participants are also expected to regularly participate in Worship, Sunday school, special trips, projects, and serve as Acolytes and Crucifers. Pastor Rust is the teacher and can be reached at (252) 675-5936. Beverly Rust is the Director of the Youth Chime Choir which is also part of Senior Catechism. The new Junior Confirmation program will include study of Bible stories, music, and sometimes crafts.
